My name is Jai and I'm the Owner of Bay Cities Driving School. Over the past 40 years, Bay Cities Driving School has taught tens of thousands of Bay Area drivers how to drive, teaching them the essential skills to be safe drivers.
I'm a Princeton University Economics graduate and previously worked in Tech. I took over Bay Cities in late 2024 with the goal of revolutionizing the entire student driving experience.
Most driving schools are mom and pop shops that schedule lessons over the phone, with poorly maintained (unsafe!) vehicles, confusing processes, and an operational model that hasn't changed in decades.
We believe that we can change this.
While your experience with a driving school will be a short one in the grand scheme of things, we believe it should be intuitive, simple, and easy. We also think we can do some good for our communities along the way.
Before self-driving cars take over, we think we can at the very least make the "learning how-to-drive" process a bit more fun for everyone involved. And maybe, just maybe, we'll be able to serve new and experienced drivers alike for the next 40 years.
